My first experience with
glass beads was in summer camp for Native Americans students where I
was a math counselor. They learned velocity, acceleration, and
distance, using model rockets. I learned loom beading, peyote stitch,
surface beading, and daisy chaining. I never looked back. ( Some days
I never looked up!). As equipment and techniques became available to
learn bead making with soft glass and boro, with kilns, torches and
grinders, who could resist? Not me! So, after 33 or so years of playing
with beads evenings and weekends, I decided to retire from the day
job to just play and teach. Hope to see you in a class soon.
