Or, if you haven't done any wire or beading yet, Barbara will teach you how to create everything you need make lovely jewelry entirely by hand. Topics include which tools to use for your projects, types of metal and why there are different sizes of metal for different projects, and how to create basic clasps, s-hooks, and connectors. Wired 101This is a two session workshop. In session one, learn which tools are used to create wire jewelry, what gauges (sizes) of wire to use for different projects, and properties of different types of wires such as copper, brass, enamel, German style, sterling, and gold filled. Techniques covered include the perfect loop, connectors and clasps, caged beads. Kick it up a notch in session two. Learn how to make complex charms and custom clasps, ear wires, and more. There is ample time for questions and practice. Students are not expected to bring any tools. Everything is provided by the instructor. Fine Wire 103Tips, tools and techniques for working with fine wire. Course content covers which tools to use and how to design jewelry using gauges 24 to 28 wire to create fine wire jewelry. This is a technique-focused class covering wire wrapped loops, wire wrapped link chains, earrings and head pins. If time allows, students may complete a pair of earrings or a chain. All tools are provided by the instructor.
